Library induction and training


Induction sessions, training and support for academic staff, researchers and higher degree research (HDR) students are conducted by faculty liaison staff.

Support can be delivered individually or to small groups, in your workspace, remotely via teleconference or Skype, or using the CSU Online Meeting tool.

Sessions are tailored to meet individual needs, but generally include:

  • Library services and resources, including print and electronic resources
  • Use of Primo Search to find and access books, eBooks, journals and journal articles, request material from other CSU locations
  • Suggesting new material for addition to the collection, including new book alerts
  • Embedding or integrating information literacy in subjects; the use of generic self-directed guides and tutorials
  • Teaching with Library resources, including: copyright, using eBooks, finding online resources, creating links to resources, eReserve
  • An introduction to key Library contacts who can help you make the best use of available resources
  • Further questions that you might have about Library services and resources
